Modern residential care in Ascot, in a historic setting. Set within acres of stunning woodland and sculpted gardens, St Christopher’s is a beautiful home for up to 25 people. Our team helps each person live the way they choose, with practical support day to day and nursing care available on site. The grounds at Ascot Priory are part of daily life here, with gardens, woodland and quiet places to sit, whether residents want company or somewhere peaceful of their own.
St Christopher’s was established in 1980, yet the history of the home is still very much in evidence. The picturesque gardens, ornate period features and vaulted ceilings create a unique and tranquil atmosphere that is appreciated and enjoyed by residents and staff alike. St Christopher’s may be a historic setting, but it still benefits from extremely modern amenities to ensure residents enjoy a fulfilled and stimulating environment.
It’s all about choice. Residents keep their own routines, deciding when to get up, where to spend the day and who to spend it with. Our team fits around them rather than the other way round.
Our residential care in Ascot is designed around each person, so residents enjoy a social, independent lifestyle with the support of an experienced team who know them well. The security and comfort of our residents is a top priority for our staff.
Residential care suits people who can no longer manage entirely alone at home but do not require ongoing nursing care. Our nursing home, St David’s, is located on the same site, and we would be happy to advise on which is most appropriate.

Comfortable, spacious and safe: every one of our bedrooms has been designed and decorated to provide a tranquil space for our residents to enjoy. Each room is expertly equipped with fully profiling beds, digital televisions, high speed internet, and views over our stunning gardens; where possible we have been able to retain and enhance the original period features. Many rooms have ensuite bathrooms, specially designed for safe and enjoyable bathing.
All of our bedrooms are cleaned daily, and each resident is encouraged to add personal touches such as photographs, paintings and furniture; even a favourite style of wallpaper or colour scheme!

Picking the right people who share our values is absolutely essential. To help us get it right, we offer each resident the opportunity to be on our interview panel whenever we are recruiting a new employee. This way, we ensure we get the best staff with the right attitude.
As an official award-holder of the government’s Investors in People scheme, we also offer outstanding care, support and development for our own staff. The fact that many of the St Christopher’s team have been with us for over 10 years is testimony to our unerring support for them – and to the extent to which they enjoy their work.
This incredible loyalty and devotion means we can offer a level of continuity that is unrivalled in most other care homes in the UK.

If you enjoy food, you will certainly enjoy life at St Christopher’s! Our kitchen team pride themselves on the delicious and varied menus available, which are prepared with the full involvement of our residents, using only the freshest, most nutritious, locally-sourced ingredients. And, as you would expect, we are absolutely fastidious about hygiene: we are proud to have been awarded the highest accolade of 5 stars by the Scores on the Doors scheme for hygiene in food preparation.
When it comes to food, the St Christopher’s motto is “You only have to ask!” Special requests are welcomed at any time of day or night – and rest assured, we never let a birthday, anniversary or other important occasion go unmarked. To keep our menus varied and interesting, we also hold regular themed days, with specially-created dishes using ingredients or a style of a particular country.
And what about inviting some company along for a meal? Family and friends are welcome to join our residents for a meal whenever they like – at no cost whatsoever.
It’s never hard to find someone to spend time with at St Christopher’s. Both residents and staff thoroughly enjoy spending time with one another, and will go out of their way to make newcomers feel welcome.
St Christopher’s boasts a wide range of social areas, including a comfortable sitting room, a spacious dining room, a peaceful conservatory, a beautiful chapel, and of course the beautiful gardens. And with an enviable location that encompasses ponds, stunning gardens and acres of natural woodland, socialising at St Christopher’s becomes doubly enjoyable.
Residents and families can surf the web or keep in touch with wireless internet access, and a public access PC.

Socialising plays an important role here at St Christopher’s, and our residents can get involved in a wide range of activities, specially organised by our social team. Ascot and the surrounding area have so much to offer; from beautiful countryside and intriguing historic buildings to buzzing towns, interesting museums and wonderful local theatres.
St Christopher’s boasts a specially-dedicated Activity Organiser, whose sole duty it is to ensure a full and varied programme of activities that will appeal to all tastes and energy levels! What’s more, the agenda is built from the requests and suggestions of our residents, their families and friends. All are provided with an up-to-date agenda each week, and the same principle applies to all activities: everyone is welcome. For our wildlife lovers, we have regular flower-seed planting, flower pressing and nature walks, while our booklovers can attend book groups and reading circles. And there is always the option to indulge in a spot of health or wellbeing, such as an appointment with our regular hairdresser, reflexologist, aromatherapist or physiotherapist.
Activities are not limited to St Christopher’s, however: we also run frequent shopping excursions, museum and theatre trips and other off-site activities. And if you don’t see your favourite pastime on our schedule, don’t worry – just ask!
At St Christopher’s, residents and their families need never feel far apart. Many of our residents invite those closest to them to join them on a daily basis, and, of course, all are welcome to take part in our wide range of social activities. Friends and family should feel welcome to join us for mealtimes, too: it’s all part of our open door policy.
