Established in 1979, St David’s and St Christopher’s are two care homes in Ascot that have been run by the Tanner family for over 40 years. Both homes have met the high standards set by the Care Quality Commission and have been rated Outstanding, and in the top 5% of care homes in the country. This is reflected in the exceptional care that is provided for all our residents.

Both homes, are set within the 40 acres of stunning grounds at Ascot Priory in Ascot, Berkshire. Each home has been expertly modernised to deliver the highest levels of care and comfort.

Although we realise we cannot recreate our resident’s own homes, we try our hardest to provide a home from home environment where choice, dignity, independence and respect is at the forefront of everything we do.

Owners David Tanner and his wife Fidelma Tinneny are always available to talk to. They take a hands-on approach to running both homes to ensure standard are always exceeded.

Quite simply, our care homes in Ascot offer some of the highest standards of nursing and residential care in the UK. Our outstanding facilities, quality of care and commitment to our residents, their families and our staff team set us apart.

Both St David’s and St Christopher’s have been inspected by the Care Quality Commission who have found that the services exceeded the standards they expect, with both homes being awarded the rating of Outstanding; an accolade that fewer than 4% of care homes achieve.

Both homes are consistently the highest rated in the area according to carehome.co.uk as a result of feedback from residents and relatives, and have been in the Top 20 in the UK for the last four years.

In 2026 our care home group was awarded Top 10 Small Care Home Group for the second year running. In addition the both care homes were awarded Top 100 Care Homes in the UK, as well as St Christopher’s being awarded Top 10 Care Home in UK for outdoor space.

For the last twenty five years both homes have achieved Gold accreditation under the Investors in People Award scheme, in recognition of the care, development, and support for our staff team, putting us in the top 2% of organisation in the UK.

Our commitment to hygiene in food preparation has been recognised by a 5-star award from the Scores on the Doors scheme, as well as our Catering for Health award from Bracknell Forest Council.

In September 2024 both homes achieved Platinum Status under the internationally recognised Gold Standard Framework for the high quality end of life care.
